“And how do you plan doing this?” Subaru had his arms crossed. He stared at Yoko, who just nibbled on his lower lip.

“I have no idea.” Yoko shrugged.

“After all these years you suddenly realize that it was maybe a not so cool idea to act like an all over grown up towards Ryo-chan?” Subaru chewed on his sandwich. He was right, Yoko knew that, but it was so hard for him to admit that he had done something wrong. It had always been his weak point. He wasn’t able to admit these things, because it made him feel stupid and he was too proud to admit mistakes.

“I didn’t act all over grown up,” Yoko said half-heartedly. He knew that Subaru was right, he always was, but again Yoko didn’t want to admit it.

“Of course not,” Subaru groaned sarcastically.

“Do you think I have a chance?” Yoko asked honestly.

“That he’ll forgive you?” Yoko nodded at that question. His heart started beating faster, because he appreciated Subaru’s opinion.

“I don’t know, Yoko. You’ve been really … let’s call it difficult to handle during the last years, but you may be lucky, because Ryo is a good-hearted idiot,” Subaru said.

Two hours later Yoko stood on the rooftop, waiting for Ryo to appear.

“Yoko, you wanted to talk with me?” Yoko felt a shiver running down his spine. Ryo’s voice made goose bumps appear on his skin, not only when Ryo was singing, but also when he was talking with him.

“Yes,” Yoko answered. He could feel his ears burning like fire, like always when he got nervous.

The cold mood between them let everything around them feel like frozen. “Ryo-chan,” Yoko started. His throat felt dry and his voice broke. His inner voice yelled that he should keep his proud up and don’t admit that there was something wrong with him, but the other voice in him told him that he should apologize before it would be too late to save their relationship.

Yoko sighed. “I am sorry.”

Ryo blinked at him. “You apologize?”

Now Yoko laughed. “It’s really not me, right?”

Ryo smiled at him while he shook his head.

“Listen, I am a jerk. I know that, and I needed hundreds of kicks from Subaru and the others to realize it, and I know that it’s probably too late to apologize and get back to what we once had, but if there is a small chance, I would be happy if you think about giving this chance to me.” Yoko couldn’t remember when he had been that honest for the last time.

“How about a coffee?” Ryo suggested.

“Perfect.” Yoko nodded. His heart jumped up and down. There was a chance, and this time he’d take this chance.
