Aiba could still feel Jun’s hand tightly around his, and after his aunt had said all that things, he felt the grip tightening. “What do you mean with all that?” Jun’s voice was hoarse and he sounded irritated and … afraid?

Kiko smiled sadly and offered all of them a seat. “I’ll make some tea, wait here.” With that she disappeared in the next room. Aiba felt Jun pulling him along till they sat next to each other on the couch. The others took place opposite, staring at Jun and Aiba.

“So Jun, what are you?” Nino asked.

Jun shrugged. “Where the hell should I know? I am not cursed and I am not a magician or I don’t know what it is.”

This whole thing was getting stranger and stranger. “But Jun, can you remember the coincidences appearing during the last years?” Sho asked.

Now that Sho mentioned it … they had always laughed about it, but maybe these weren’t just coincidences but Jun’s power? “You mean the Ramen shop appearing out of nowhere because we were hungry on a trip? Or the time a Takoyaki shop appeared in the middle of New York?” Aiba asked.

Sho nodded. “For example, yes.”

“But I didn’t do anything.” Jun looked from one to the other. “I just agreed with your suggestions that these things would be nice.” He looked at Aiba. “And I don’t have hiccups or something like that.”

“The more important thing is what your aunt meant with ‘they are after you’,” Ohno hooked in, sounding deeply worried.

Aiba could feel Jun’s hand clinging on him like he wanted to find safety with it. “I don’t know. I don’t know anything about this whole mess.”

“Okay, we need to keep cool,” Aiba said, but he was sure that he was one of the most nervous in this room, and this was definitely not good. Not in this moment. They didn’t need another trip somewhere or clothes disappearing or whatever. Aiba could feel the need of hiccupping in him rising, but when Jun’s hand brushed his, he calmed down again, but he couldn’t prevent it anymore. Aiba raised his hand and held his mouth, but it was too late. A hiccup resounded and soon everything around him got blur. Aiba cling on Jun’s hand, and he even took his other hand to grasp for Jun’s arm when he felt everything around him getting dark.

Aiba opened his eyes, and for his surprise this time it was Jun next to him. “Where are we?” Jun asked. They sat on a bench, which was on a small hill and they looked down to a small village, which Aiba knew pretty well.

“My grand-grand parents once lived here,” Aiba said.

“Oh.” Jun stood up, dissolving from Aiba, which let Aiba feel cold and insecure out of sudden. “Mine are also from this place. But I just know it from stories my parents told me.”

Aiba stood up, approaching Jun. He looked down to intertwine their hands again, because he had the feeling it calmed Jun down, and in the end it helped himself getting calmer. “Why are we here?”

Jun shook his head. “I don’t know, but something down there looks weird, don’t you think?” He turned to Aiba.

He took a closer look, and Jun was right, there was indeed something wrong. “Can it be that we landed in a different time?” The people walking down the small street were definitely strange clothed and the whole surroundings seemed more like in the 18th century then 2017.

“It means our parents are maybe down there?” Jun mused.

“You know that sounds like an action movie, right?” Aiba asked. Slowly he really had the feeling that everything must have been a dream, but sadly it wasn’t.

Jun nodded. “But do you remember what my aunt said? That my family knew something about this whole thing?”

Aiba tilted his head. “Do you really believe that you have magical power?”

Jun shrugged before he let out a sigh. “I don’t know anything anymore. But I always had a strange feeling, so maybe there is something bigger behind this all?” He looked at the town again. “And maybe the answers to it are right down there?”

“Okay,” Aiba said firmly. “Let’s go. We search for them.”

Jun held him back. “We can’t walk into this town with the way we are dressed. We need to cover first.”

Aiba smiled. “It’s an adventure and it’s a little bit like Mission impossible or something like this.”

Jun rolled his eyes, before he joined his laugh. “I just hope you don’t bring us back to the others before he have at least some answers.”

“I will give my best to prevent every hiccup or sneeze or whatever,” Aiba promised. Just my uncontrolled heart-beat I can’t prevent happening … he thought, but didn’t dare to say it out loud.

“Masaki,” Jun said and Aiba got worried, because he didn’t know that tone in Jun’s voice.

“Yeah?” He gulped. Jun’s eyes were darker than before and he nibbled on his lower lip nervously. “What happened Jun?” Aiba’s voice got higher.

“I am …” He shifted a little. “I am really happy that you are here with me.”

Aiba’s heart hammered against his chest. It wasn’t a confession, but it was something which felt pretty similar to it. “I am sorry that I took everyone else with me, when the curse hit me, but you weren’t one of it. I can’t explain why, but I am sorry.” Aiba bowed. That sounded so stupid, but he had the feeling that he had to make this apology.

Jun stepped closer, what made Aiba feel like exploding. Of course he had been that close to the other before, and probably much closer, they had slept with each for various times already, but he had the feeling that this was something special, something which didn’t happen till now. He almost jumped when he felt Jun’s hands around his waist, pulling him into a warm hug. “You don’t know what these words mean to me.”

Aiba closed his eyes to memorize every single second of this. He could feel Jun’s breath tickling in his neck, sending goosbumps all over his body, and he got all bouncy when he felt Jun’s lips on his neck, and soon he dissolved a little, and his lips weren’t on Aiba’s neck anymore, but on his lips. It was the best moment Aiba could have imagined.

Jun dissolved from him some moments later, his cheeks a little flushed. “And now, let’s get us something to wear and then we’ll search for our relatives.”
