Title: A leopard never changes its spots
Pairing: Juntoshi, very, very slight Aimiya, Sho/Jun/Aiba as brothers.
Rating: up to NC-17, but PG-13 most of the time
Warning: shape shifter AU?
Summary: Jun was just doing his job when the evil caught him and the aggressive dog bit him. He wasn't able to tranform into his human shape again, and his brothers weren't around immediately, so he got carried away by a nice veterinarian who promised to take care of Jun. But he had to find a way to get back home, just that this veterinarian was really nice, and he wanted to stay, just not in his animal shape, but how should he do this? And then there was the evil and their missions, how should he tell the veterinarian about it?
Note: This is the birthday present for
lilly0 , I really hope you'll like it. <3
Jun let out a loud moan, which sounded like a meow. No, it didn’t only sound like a meow, it was a meow. He was still in his animal body and he couldn’t change into his human body. He tried it, but he failed. His power didn’t leave his body and his shape remained same, no matter how hard he tried to get back. He looked down at his black fur, which was mixed up with a lot of dark red. Damn, this man’s aggressive dog got him when he hadn’t watched out of a second.
Jun licked over the bloody part of his right side and shook his head. The metallic taste almost made him throw up. Where did he get into here? He just wanted to do his job, and now he was wounded and he couldn’t transform anymore. This was really not good. He looked around. The others had to be around him, because they weren’t far away on this evening, but now he couldn’t see anyone of them.
Jun stood up and walked a few steps, but his right side was buckling with every step. Another meow escaped his lips and he was somehow glad that no one understood that he was actually cursing.
“Oh dear, what happened to you?” Jun heard a voice and stopped in utter shock. He looked up at a man standing in front of him. Great, what he didn’t need now was someone talking to him. He needed to get back into their house and he needed medical treatment. He just hoped Sho would be able to help him with his wound – but when the burning pain crossed his body once more, he wasn’t sure if Sho’s medical knowledge would be enough.
“You don’t look good,” the man said and knelt in front of Jun. Jun made some steps back and hissed, but the man didn’t move. “I am a vet, I can help you.” He pointed at himself. Of course Jun could understand him, but he was sure that other cats wouldn’t be able to understand the man. But somehow it was sweet how he tried talking with Jun. He sat down and didn’t move at all, not even when this guy stepped closer.
He took the scarf from around his neck and held it in his hands. “I will wrap this around your body now, and then I will take you along and I take care of your wounds. You don’t have a collar, so I guess you are a stray?”
Stray? What an insult…did Jun really look like a stray? His fur was beautiful and he took a lot of time caring about his outlook – not only as human, but also in his animal form. What was this man thinking? If he would have been human now, he would have told the stranger all the not so nice words he could think of … stray … he with his brown eyes and his sleepy outlook, pf….he shouldn’t say something like this.
Jun was totally in his mind, thinking about mean things to tell the man, when he already felt the scarf wrapped around his middle and the man raised him from the ground. Great, now he was caught and no one knew where he’d be going now…this evening was definitely not like he had planned it.
The man’s fingers stroked right under Jun’s head and instinctively he started purring and his eyes closed for a moment. Damn natural animal reaction…Jun could see someone moving in the corner of the street. Two racoons observed him from there, and on the tree not far away he could see an owl staring at him. At least the others knew that he was caught, or something like this…
Jun could feel everything around him getting dizzy and he was somehow really glad that he didn’t need to go somewhere, but it bothered him that he was on the arm of a stranger, who thought he had a wounded stray cat with him. Of course this wasn’t totally wrong, but Jun wasn’t a cat – at least not a real one.
He didn’t know how long they walked down the streets till Jun felt the man shifting. He moved a bit, but the man didn’t let him go. “No, no, I take you along. You won’t survive out here.”
Jun sighed. He would definitely not be able to flee here, at least not now. They walked into a small house. The man put Jun in a basket on a cupboard. Jun had the chance to look around. There was a long anteroom and there was a door at the left side and straight ahead was another door, looking like a second entrance door. The door was open and it leaded into a big living room and there were stairs leading to an upper floor. The man undressed from his jacket before he turned to Jun again. He smiled at Jun and Jun had to blink a few times to get back to his senses. This smile was amazing. No, no, he had to get out of here.
“There is my surgery, I bring you there now,” the man said and carried Jun into the room at the left side. So this was the doctor’s surgery. He was indeed a vet, so at least this wasn’t a lie. He had already feared that the evil became stronger and found a way to get him, but it seemed this guy really believed that Jun was a cat and he really wanted to help him. “You get an injection now, and then we’ll see,” the man said and put on his gloves.
Injection? Wait a moment; this was not what Jun wanted. He hated injections. He always had to take along one of his brothers, when he knew that he needed an injection, because he was terribly afraid about it. He humped his back and stepped back, but in his cat form he wasn’t able to escape, and he couldn’t bite the doctor and with that misuse his power, because this man hadn’t done anything wrong. Jun had to give in; he had to bear with it. The man pressed him on the table and Jun could feel the needle stinging on his right side. His heart beat increased and he had the feeling to faint, but it didn’t take long till Jun’s eyes closed and he fell into a deep sleep.
“Jun-pon, Jun-pon.” Jun turned to see his older brother running up to him. He smiled, like always when his brother came to him with his cheerful and happy mood.
“Masaki, what’s up?” He immediately knew what had happened. Masaki had gotten his shape. He had finally found his animal body. Jun got a little envious, because he wanted it so badly, but till now his other form kept silent and there was no sign that it would occur any time soon.
“I am a raccoon.” Masaki laughed and hugged Jun. “I am so happy that I am not a flying animal, like Sho-chan.”
“It’s not that bad flying around, you know,” Sho said with an eyebrow pulled up. They sat in the garden, and Sho, Jun’s eldest brother, helped him learning for an upcoming test.
“Yeah, but I like staying on the ground,” Masaki said. “And I am happy that I am not a wild animal like tiger or bull or something like this.”
Jun chuckled. That would have been something…a bull in Tokyo. Oh, his brother sometimes behaved like a bull in a china shop, but that was something different. “I hope I get my shape soon too,” Jun said a little daydreaming.
Sho looked at him and leaned forward to tousle Jun’s hair. He mostly hated it, but now he let it happen without saying something, because he knew his brother just wanted to comfort him. “I am sure it’ll soon be time for you to get your shape.” Sho smiled. “I was fifteen when I got mine, and Masaki is sixteen now, so maybe in one year you’ll have yours.”
Jun nodded. He really hoped that his brother was right. He was fourteen, so maybe he really only needed to wait a little longer.
Everything around Jun faded and he slowly opened his eyes. He already feared that the doctor would place him in a cage, but he woke up in a comfy basket right next to the oven, and damn this was hot…despite real cats, he didn’t like sleeping on or next to the oven, but he hardly ever slept in his animal form, so this was something special. Jun stood up, but he still felt dizzy. His middle was wrapped in white bandages and the slight stinging pain when he moved was still there, but he could move without the feeling of fainting.
“Oh, little one, you are awake,” the man said. “I have some food for you.” He pointed at the corner where a small bowl with cat food and some water were placed.
Now the real problem started…only the thought of eating cat food made Jun almost throw up. He never ate in his animal shape, he was too much of a human, but how should he tell this man about it? He meowed and sat on the carpet. He wouldn’t eat now, he had time, and when the man would open the door to let him into the garden, Jun would disappear and never come back again. He stood up and sat in front of the terrace door where he meowed. Maybe the man would get the hint.
“No, you can’t go out now. You need to recover first.” The man stepped next to him and sat on the floor to Jun. “I once had a cat like you are. Black, fury and looking a little chubby.” He laughed out loud.
Chubby??? … did this man really say Jun looked chubby? He made a lot of sport like running, judo, karate and some more things, so he was definitely not chubby at all! What the heck…His eyes got small and he knew he looked dangerous, at least how dangerous cats could look to humans.
The man laughed. “I somehow want to believe that you understand me.” He patted Jun’s head. “You need to eat, little one.” The man scratched Jun’s neck and he purred. “I will prepare some milk, maybe you like this more.”
Jun thanked god that the man would do this for him. He didn’t like milk that much either, but better than eating something that smelled like its date to expire had been long ago. The man came back with a bowl of milk and Jun licked some milk out of the bowl. It wasn’t all that bad, and he could feel his stomach grumble. He really had been hungry, and maybe the milk would give him enough strength to change back into his human body.
“Good boy,” the man said. “Oh, I need a name for you.”
A name? Why would he need a name? Oh god, he wanted to keep Jun. He couldn’t allow this, he needed to go, he couldn’t stay here.
“As long as no one is searching for you, I will keep you.” The man leaned forward and bumped his forehead softly against Jun’s. Oh god, this won’t end well. He needed to get in contact with his brothers or Nino, because they definitely needed to save him.
“I think I will call you Bob.” Bob? Really? Jun’s eyes got small again. What a stupid name.
“Bob and Satoshi, sounds good, right?” No, it didn’t sound good at all…really it didn’t…but the house was nice, and the soft and caring voice of this Satoshi was also nice, so Jun could think of staying here for some more hours, but then he definitely had to go. He plead that the others were already on the way to get him out of here.
A/N: Hello everyone, this is my b-day fic for lilly, I don't know how long it'll become, because I am only in the middle of writing it. :) I know lilly's birthday is in two weeks, but next week is Easter holiday here in my country and I won't be around much, because I have several familiy appointments to handle, so yeah...that's why I post now.
What do you think of it? This time I decided to go with Juntoshi - I never wrote a multi with them, so I was very curious if it would be hard to write them, but till now they work good for me :)
Oh, and I promise that Jun won't stay a cat for the whole multi, it's just the first two chapters, and then he'll be a human again ;) Because a pairing with an animal would be hard to write *lol*
The others will appear more often in the next chapters, but it's only Jun-centric this time, so no change of the pov. :) But wait for some racoon-owl action :D :D :D
