Notes: Written for my beloved
lilly0 as a birthday present. I really hope you’ll like this.
Aiba opened the fridge and pulled out the bottle of Champagne. “Wow, you didn’t buy the cheapest one?” Aiba was stunned, a smile curling his lips. He loved teasing Nino for his money habit.
“It’s a day we have to celebrate. So once in my life I spent money on everything. But don’t get used to it, that won’t happen often.” Nino laughed, poking Aiba’s side playfully.
Aiba twisted the bottle in his hands and pulled the cork to open it. But the item didn’t move one single millimetre. “Damn, I hate those things.” Aiba pulled a little harder on the cork till it opened with a plop and some of the liquid bubbled out of the bottle.
Nino rushed to bring the glasses and some tissues to clean Aiba’s hands and the wet floor. “Thanks,” Aiba giggled and filled the glasses with the champagne. “I am really happy for you, Kazu,” Aiba added.
Nino smiled at him, like he hardly ever did before. Nino was a sunny character, but this smile was something special, something Aiba hadn’t seen before. “I am really happy too.”
“Did you plan it long ago?” Aiba wanted to know.
He remembered when Nino had told them that he was together with Erika. It had been one year ago. Till then no one had thought that Nino would be the first one with a real serious relationship. After the break up with Ohno and a second relationship with a girl from his company, Nino had actually wanted to stay alone. At least that was what he had always told Aiba and the others.
“Yes, but I didn’t want to talk about it before I knew her answer,” Nino replied.
“And to our surprise, she said yes?” Jun stood in the door frame, grinning at them.
“Yes, it was also a surprise for me,” Nino laughed.
They turned when the doorbell rang and Nino walked up to open the door. There were a bunch of people Aiba had never seen before, and some of Nino’s colleagues he had seen one or two times. That really would become a big party.
“Those really are great news.” Aiba stepped to his brother.
“Yes, that’s true.” Jun nodded. “Now we have to find our perfect match, brother,” he added.
Aiba smiled at that, but a little stinging pain rose in his chest. When was the last time he had fallen in love? Aiba looked at his brother. Sometimes he wanted to know what Jun thought. He smiled at the new guests, but there was a strange emptiness in his eyes. He knew Jun well, but during the last years they had drifted apart. Not that they didn’t spend time with each other anymore, or that they didn’t talk with each other, it had just become a little different, and Aiba had the feeling that Jun didn’t tell him everything anymore.
~~~
Jun looked around. Nino’s living room was filled with people. He looked from one to the other. He didn’t know everyone, but it was nice to see that Nino had a pretty active life concerning friends. He looked at Nino with Erika next to him and smiled. A warm feeling spread in Jun. He loved to see one of his friends happy.
Jun stopped looking around when he saw a young man standing at the buffet on the other side of the room. He had never seen him before. It had to be one of Nino’s colleagues.
Jun walked up to him, taking one of the sandwiches and some tomatoes on a plate. “It’s a nice party, right?”
The stranger looked at him, a smile started curling his lips. “Yes, it is.”
“Are you on of Kazu’s colleagues?”
The stranger smiled at him, his head tilted just a bit. Jun got a little mesmerized by the dark eyes of this man.
“Something like that, yes,” he just answered.
“What’s your name?” Jun asked.
The man gave him a strange look. “How about spending this party together without telling each other our names or who we really are?”
What a strange request? Jun thought, but in the end he just nodded to agree to it. “And after this party?”
The man smiled at him. “We won’t see each other again.”
Jun twisted a tomato between his fingers. He had never met such a strange man, with such a strange attitude. “But what if I want to see you again?”
“You won’t see me again, I promise that.”
“And if I search for you?”
“Don’t ask too many questions. Just tell me, if this is okay for you?”
Jun sighed. He didn’t know why he felt so attracted to someone he didn’t know at all, but the excitement because of this offer made him feel all bubbly and nervous. Jun licked over his lips and started biting his lower lip, like he always did when he was thinking about something.
“I am Harry,” Jun finally said, stretching out his hand.
The man shook his hand, some small wrinkles curled around his nose when he grinned at Jun. “Harry? Like Harry Potter?”
“Is there any problem with that name?” Jun asked.
“No, no, it’s perfectly fine.” The man stroked his chin like he was thinking about something. “I am Glenn.”
“Glenn? Like the one in ‘The walking dead’?” Jun grinned.
“Maybe,” the stranger said. “You watch that series?”
Jun laughed. “No, I am totally not into horror things, but my brother has a thing for horror movies and series, and he always tells me afterwards.”
“He really teases you?” the man said.
Jun shook his head. “Not really. He watches the movies and calls me right afterwards because they scare him.”
Jun looked at the balcony, where he saw his brother standing with Ohno, Nino and some others Jun didn’t know. He had to smile when he thought about Aiba’s last call.
“What are you thinking about, Harry?”
It sounded strange to use a fake name, and it made Jun smile because of it. “I just thought about my brother calling me some nights ago. He watched this new horror movie called ‘The forest’ at the cinema and he called me afterwards, because he didn’t want to sleep alone.”
“How old is your brother?”
Jun giggled. “He is 33 years old.”
The man joined in laughing. “Ah, okay, he really is young and it’s totally normal to be afraid at this age.”
“Yeah,” Jun said.
They walked up to some chairs Nino had placed in front of the French windows he had. Jun sat down and the next moment he just hoped that these weren’t from the bulky waste. However the nice white colour and the slight vintage style were totally feminine, so Jun guessed it had been Erika’s idea to buy them.
It was already getting dark outside and the lights from the other houses sparkled in the night.
“What about you?” the man asked.
Jun winced shortly. For one moment he had dozed off and didn’t know that he was talking with someone. Maybe he wasn’t even used to talk with others anymore, because during the last two years he had only had his two friends and his brother at his side. “What about me?”
“Yes, which movies do you like?”
Jun leaned against the backrest. “Hm, let me think about it.” He scratched his head. “Guess what,” he laughed, “Harry Potter is one of my favourites.”
The man placed one hand on his chest theatrically. “No, really? I would never ever guessed that!”
Both had to laugh.
“Oh, and I have a special love for romance movies,” Jun said.
“Which one is your all-time favourite?”
Jun couldn’t remember the last time he had watched a whole movie, or the last time he had gone to the cinema. It must had been ages. “The last movie I watched was ‘Titanic’ and the last movie I saw at the cinema must have been ‘Fast and furious 7’.”
“Fast and furious 7? That doesn’t sound like a movie you wanted to watch?”
Jun looked again at the balcony. His friends were still standing there, chatting with each other. He could see Ohno laughing about something Aiba said. Nino’s hand was close around Erika’s shoulder like he wanted to protect her or like he was telling everyone that she was his. “No, you are right. It was Nino’s wish to see the movie and we all needed to go along, because Erika totally didn’t want to watch it together with him.”
The man grinned. “Sounds like you’re always there for your friends.”
“Yes. I am,” Jun said. “No wait, we are. We all have been sticking together since forever.”
“You were school mates?”
Jun smiled. Their whole friendship had started thanks to of weird circumstances. “Yes, but we totally didn’t like each other in the beginning.”
“I am curious to get to know the story,” the man said before he stood up. “But I will get us two beers before we continue this.”
“Sounds good,” Jun replied.
Jun took a bite of his sandwich when someone tapped on his shoulder. “Are you okay, brother?”
Jun looked at Aiba. “Yes, I am.”
“Are you sitting here alone?” Aiba asked. “Don’t you want to join us?”
Jun shook his head. “I have a nice talk with Gl…” he smiled. “With one of Nino’s colleagues.”
“Okay, join us later on, okay?” Aiba said before he left Jun to take some drinks for himself and the others on the balcony.
The man came back with the bottles and sat down again. “So, what was that story with those friends of yours?”
Jun took the bottle and took a sip before he leaned back again. He could feel the cold liquid running down his throat. “Ohno and my brother were in the same class and Nino and I were in the same.”
“Your brother is the older one?”
“Yes, he is two years older than me. So is Ohno,” Jun explained. “There was a time I really didn’t get along with my brother.”
The man nodded. “You fought a lot?”
Jun thought about that. “No, not really,” he started. “That was the strange thing. We hardly ever fought.”
“But you didn’t get along well?”
“I don’t know. It was a cold time between us. We didn’t know what to talk with each other, we didn’t know how to handle each other and we had no idea what the other wanted.”
The man took a sip. “What changed your relationship?”
Jun smiled. “I was 10 years old, my brother 12. He isn’t the type who starts fighting easily. He really is a cry-baby sometimes, and he decides to draw back before he gets into a serious fight. But this one time back in school was different. I just heard that someone was talking bad about me, and somehow Aiba got to know about it and he started fighting with this guy.”
“How did it end?” Normally Jun didn’t like it when someone was questioning him like this, but this guy had something calm and relaxing in his behaviour, it made Jun talk freely about his life.
“Aiba had a bloody lip, a black eye and he cried his heart out,” Jun said.
“And you took care of him?”
“Yes, I pampered him for almost the whole day. And with that our relationship changed.”
“And Ohno and Nino joined you?”
Jun nodded. “Yes. Ohno had been at our place long before that ‘accident’. He has been part of our family since he was a little child. His parents didn’t care much, and my family always took him with us to care about him.”
The man smiled at Jun. “Sounds like you have great luck with your family?”
A/N: I am not really used to write Sakumoto, but I hope you like it. :D So what do you think about Jun's relationships with his friends and brother and what's with this strange guy? :D What do you think about them not telling each other their names?
Date: 2016-04-10 07:47 pm (UTC)I read it and loved it <3 And will leave a more coherent comment tomorrow!! ♥Okay, I guess the unknown name is Sho! But why this game with the names? (*LOL* on Jun chosing Harry :D Fanboy forever ^^ And Sho Glenn ^^) I'm curious about why Sho doesn't want to tell his real name... Well, I'll for sure learn about that at one point ^^
I guess after this nice evening together they will either want to see each other again and search or... they stumble over each other (aka Sho as Jun's new boss? ^^)
The bickering between the friends because of Nino's stinginess is so cute. (and of course Erika bought the chairs ^^)
So, Aiba and Jun grew a bit distant to each other? Did there something happen or is it just because of stress?
Can't wait for an update!! ♥
Thanks so much for sharing and writing this!
Of course, that wasn't Nino's idea ^^
Jun and Aiba, my favourite brother couple ^^ :D <3
Thanks sooo much for your lovely comment <3 <3
