Aiba strolled down the street. It was the 24th of December and he really felt bad. It was already evening and his birthday would be over soon. He had had lunch with his family, and he really had had a great time with them, but now he felt sad. His band mates had already congratulated him via messager and they had called him later on, but it wasn’t the same. It was the third year in a row they hadn’t time to meet up for celebrating together, and Aiba missed them all, but especially Jun’s absence made his heart clench.
Aiba winced when he felt a sudden touch on his shoulder. He turned to look into two chocolate-brown tender eyes. “Why are you running so fast?”
“Jun-pon?” Aiba asked astonished. “What are you doing here?”
Jun smiled at him. “I know that the bridge with the super cheesy Christmas lightning is your favourite place on Christmas Eve. Recording today ended earlier and I thought of coming here to celebrate together with you.” Jun raised his hand where he had a bottle of Champagne.
Aiba felt the bad feeling in him disappearing. He still missed the others, but the most important person for him was with him now. He felt Jun’s hand grasping his, pulling him along to a small bench behind some trees, but where they had an amazing view to the bridge and the houses around, blinking in green and red lights. Aiba loved Christmas. He looked to the side. Jun smiled brightly while he opened the bottle. Now Aiba loved this day much more.
They sat down and for one moment they just looked at the scenery. “Happy birthday, Masaki,” Jun said while he handed him a glass of Champagne.
“Thank you Jun.” Aiba smiled at him. His heart started beating faster when he felt Jun’s fingers brushing his cheek.
“You look like you don’t feel good. Is everything okay?” Aiba had always admired Jun for his senses. He realized immediately when someone felt bad.
“I am all okay now,” Aiba said, a warm feeling crossing his body.
“Now?” Jun looked at him curiously.
Damn – now Aiba had said out oud what he wanted to keep inside his heart. “Yeah. Now that I am not alone on my birthday anymore,” Aiba said. He breathed out – okay Jun hadn’t recognized that he was the reason why Aiba felt better.
Jun sighed next to him. “And I thought you are happy because I am here.”
Aiba could feel the heat rushing through his body. “I am,” he said honestly. He waited, but Jun didn’t say a word. He turned to look at Jun. Before Aiba could react he felt Jun’s lips on his, kissing him sweetly.
“Happy birthday again.” Jun smiled when they broke the kiss.
“The best birthday ever,” Aiba just giggled like a teenager. His cheeks were burning like fire, but he felt incredible good now.
