When Aiba entered the apartment he saw various clothes spread on the floor and two pair of shoes standing at the entrance. A bad feeling crossed Aiba’s body.

“No, not again,” he murmured. A cold shiver ran down his spine. He had been together with Sho for three months now. He had thought a long time before he had decided to give Sho a chance and had started dating him.

Aiba didn’t trust people easily. He had gotten betrayed three times and then he had sworn that it would never happen to him again. Sho had begged various times to make Aiba give him a chance. First Aiba refused every of Sho’s pleas, but slowly Aiba’s feelings for the other grew bigger and he couldn’t hide the fact that he had fallen for Sho anymore.

After two sleepless nights he had decided to give them a chance. And now? Aiba’s heart beat increased. Again he got betrayed. What a fool he had been.

“Masaki?” Aiba winced. He turned to look at Sho standing at the doorframe, only in his underwear. “What are you doing at home already?”

“Early end of filming,” Aiba said. “It seems you have a guest?” Aiba tried to stay calm. He would yell and cry later on and go on Nino’s nerves with his breakdown.

“What?” Sho blinked. Did he want to fool Aiba here?

“Two pair of shoes, various clothes from more than one person on the floor?” Aiba could feel the tears swelling up in his eyes. No, he didn’t want to cry, he needed to be strong - at least till he would have left the apartment.

Sho smiled at him. He stepped a little closer but Aiba stepped back immediately. “Masaki, listen to me.”

“Do I really want to know what you’re going to tell me now?” Aiba croaked.

“Yes,” Sho said. “You can search in the whole apartment. You won’t find someone here. It’s only the two of us here.”  He stepped closer and took Aiba’s hand in his before Aiba was able to step back.

Sho’s hand felt warm in his. “You told me that you want to visit your family on Christmas Eve and you said that I should accompany you. It will be the first time I meet your family.”

“Yes.” Aiba nodded.

“Look, I panicked a little bit,” Sho sighed. He turned to the clothes on the floor. “I got nervous because I’d get to know your parents and so I went shopping. And afterwards I freaked out again, because I have totally no sense for combining the right clothes. And then I got afraid that I’d blame you when I don’t appear with the perfect outfit, so I called Jun for help. He agreed to go shopping again with me and over all I forgot that I had left the clothes from my first shopping fail all over the floor.”

“You’re kidding me?” Aiba said. That was totally not Sho-like, but on a weird and strange second thought it could have been Sho’s way of thinking.

Sho squeezed Aiba’s hand. “No, I am really that clumsy and a little stupid.”

The tension in Aiba faded. Sho’s eyes looked gently at him. Aiba couldn’t see a hint that Sho lied to him. “So there’s no man in my closet or on the balcony?”

Sho shook his head. He brushed Aiba’s cheek lovingly. “You can go and check out every corner of the apartment.”

Aiba nodded. He believed the other, but he wanted to tease him a little bit, so he walked up to the bedroom and opened the closet. “Oh you liar, Sho,” he suddenly yelled.

“What?” Sho’s voice broke. “What have you found?”

Aiba came back to the room, a big smile curling around his lips. On his arm purred his – a little too fat – cat. “I knew you have a man in the closet.”

Sho started laughing. “Okay, you got me.”

He walked up to Aiba and pulled him closer. Aiba could feel Sho’s breath tickling in his neck. “I would never betray you, okay?”

Aiba nodded. His heart made some jumps when he leaned closer to Sho.
