“And tomorrow?” Ohno asked. He had the planner on his legs his finger placed on a free spot tomorrow in the evening.
“Hm,” he heard Jun saying. “I have time from 7am till 9am,” Jun sighed.
They often had troubles finding some slots for spending time together, but this year it seemed almost impossible. “I am on a shooting from 8am till 10am. And later on?”
“It’s Aiba-chan’s birthday party.” Of course they could skip this, but Ohno knew that they wouldn’t do that at all.
Ohno rubbed his face. “I am free after Aiba’s lunch? I have the rest of the day off and I am free on the 25th.”
There was a short silence on the other side of the phone. “I work in the afternoon and I have a film meeting on the 25th.”
Ohno felt something in him clenching. “So there is no time for the two of us for this year’s Christmas.”
“No.” Jun’s words sound as desperate as Ohno’s had been.
“Okay, I give up for this year. So we see each other tomorrow at Aiba’s party?” Ohno said.
“It seems so,” Jun’s voice was apologetic, but Ohno knew the other didn’t do anything on purpose it was just their tight schedule.
~~~
Ohno entered the restaurant where Aiba wanted to celebrate his birthday. He looked around. There was no Aiba, no Nino and no Sho…but there was Jun sitting at their favourite table, a smile curling around his lips. “Jun?” He sat opposite. “Where are the others?”
Jun giggled. “Nino and Aiba are on a romantic trip – what Nino totally don’t like, but he had to go, and Sho is on a short vacation with I don’t know who…”
Ohno tilted his head. “And we?” His heart jumped a little bit.
“We have time till tomorrow, because I cancelled my meetings today and tomorrow, sooooo” he said slowly. “I decided that we drive to my aunt’s house in the mountains till the day after tomorrow.”
Ohno started smiling. That was just perfect – the thing he totally wanted right now. “Let’s go.”
“But don’t you want to eat first?” Jun grinned.
“No, we take something along on the way, I want to be with you – now.” He took Jun’s hand and pulled him out of the restaurant. This would become the perfect Christmas Eve for the both of them.
